Greenacre Writers Literary Festival 2013

Dates for your diary. Greenacre Writers Literary Festival* 17th and 18th May 2013: Truth and Fiction

Last year we promised that our Literary Festival in 2013 would be bigger and so we have three events planned. Details will be out soon but here's a sneaky peek.

Friern Barnet Community Library, Friern Barnet Lane, London N11
Friday 17th May from 4.30pm-6.30pm 'So You Want To Write For Kids!' Creative writing workshop with author Miriam Halamy. Miriam will offer vital insights into the world of writing and publishing fiction for nine years to teens as well as offering some writing starters to get the creative juices flowing. All levels welcome, just bring pen, paper and the energy to write!

Friday 17th May from 7.00pm-10.00pm Open Mic hosted by Allen Ashley. Guest poet Sarah Doyle will be appearing but this is your chance to shine too. We are opening slots to members of the writing community to showcase their work.

Our venue for these two events is the fantastic Friern Barnet Community Library, the People's Library, which was closed by the council but has been reclaimed by the community. Come and see why.

Trinity Church Centre, Nether Street, London N12
Saturday 18th May - we will host a writing workshop in the morning and the main event in the afternoon at Trinity Church Centre, Nether Street, N12  with exciting guest authors: Sarah Harrison, Leigh Russell, CJ Flood, Gina Blaxill, and members of Greenacre Writers reading from their work followed by a panel with Dr Josie Pearse, and Allen Ashley plus guests discussing Truth and Fiction.

Full details to follow - watch this space.

*Greenacre Writers Literary Festival was the first literary festival to be held in the London Borough of Barnet.
